Who is in charge of guidance?  How are guidance services organized in schools?  What methods are used for guidance?

The promotion of the guidance program is becoming widespread.  Every school feels the need for educational guidance programmes.
According to Kelly- “Marg Darshan is that holistic program which helps the students to reach a higher level of their growth”.  Therefore, for such a program, students need proper staff.  Every teacher needs to know about this.  No teacher can separate the relationship of learning, counseling with mentor, adjustment with principal.  Every one is contained in it.  each

The work of school guidance depends on the activity of three persons.
1. Principal (Head Master) - The place of the principal is centralized in the school.  He provides leadership to the school.  The truth is that if the principal does not take interest in the guidance program, then no teacher of the school can make any program successful.  If the school's counselor tells a child to take a certain course, then in such a situation, the principal, as the main counselor, introduces the parent to the real situation.  The role of the principal is important in the path-darshan program.
(1) He provides leadership to the guidance program.
(2) He receives a thorough introduction to the route-darshan program.  He keeps in touch with the latest literature and information.
(3) He acquaints the parents with the principle and working of guidance.
(4) He provides necessary and helpful material to the teacher, student and parents.
(5) He assigns the guidance related responsibilities to the teachers according to their interest.
(6) He encourages teachers to participate in guidance related seminars etc.
(7) He constitutes committees for guidance program.

2. Class Teacher - The role of the class teacher in the guidance program is prominent and important.  The class teacher is in direct contact with the students.  According to Edith, the cooperation of the teacher is indispensable in the guidance program.  No matter how attractive its principles, no matter how practical its spirit, it is the teacher who provides it with the final test.  The principal and supervisor are there for him, but he provides education to him as a person.  This role presents for the success of teacher guidance program-
(1) Recognizes the interests, abilities, abilities and problems of the class.
(2) He establishes contact with many subject teachers for guidance.
(3) Keep in touch with the parents.
(4) By gaining the confidence of the students, tries to develop them.
(5) He also takes the opinion of experts when necessary.

3. Parents - It is also necessary for the parents to be aware of the guidance program.  That program is only for the welfare of his people.  They decide the future of their children by taking the advice of the guiding officers.  Adequate help can be taken for this work by establishing Teacher Parent Associations.

4. Specialists - Guidance program is actually a technical program.  In this, counselors provide help in the form of psychologists, psychiatrists and medical specialists.
(1) The mentor guides the guidance program.  In addition, he also performs the function of administrator.  The responsibility of the success of this program rests on him.  He gives advice regarding various courses, selection of professions etc.
(2) Identify the psychological problem children.  Problem children's behavior affects the whole class.  Such children are assigned to a psychologist.
(3) There is a positive correlation between medical school performance and student's health.  Only a health expert can examine the health of the students and solve their problems well.  He diagnoses the diseases through the periodic health examination of the students, takes care of the limited facilities of the teachers and parents, runs programs to improve the school health, above all he provides the related information.  Organization of Guidance Program • Organization of guidance program has become necessary for educational institutions.  For the organization of this program of educational institutions, it is also necessary to provide proper space, funds and training to the teachers of testing and guidance.  Along with equipment, trained persons are also required.  Simultaneously schools • Guidance service organization in schools is started for the fulfillment of these objectives.
(1) To understand the individual problems and abilities, needs of the students.
(2) To develop cordial relationship between parents, teachers and students.
(3) To help the students in the selection of subject and profession for the development of future life.
(4) Finding solutions to the personal problems of the students.  Guidance staff need to be aware of the critiques of guidance.  The role of education is very important in this.  In the words of Chitrahom - 'In a school where the class-teacher accepts the responsibilities of guidance, the division of the task of teaching and guidance becomes difficult.  He helps students to evaluate their own progress during the course of teaching, choosing the task of explaining their own abilities.

These tasks should be taken for guidance in schools:-
(1) Creation of atmosphere.
(2) Identifying the abilities of the students.
(3) To make records of the students.
(4) Solving administrative problems.
(5) Financial assistance to the students.
(6) The system of diagnostic education.  There is a great need for guidance services in schools these days.  These requirements are indicative of the fact that these services should be organized in schools.  This service can be organized in schools in this way.

Along with this, attention should also be given to these things:-

1. Test techniques - For guidance, various abilities and achievements of the child should be tested first.  Its child will get the knowledge of what kind of guidance is needed.

2. Observational techniques - Under this method the behavior of the child is studied.

3. Rating scales - By this method various conditions of children are measured.

4. Ancedotal-record - The collection of events that happened from time to time also gives sufficient help in giving instructions to the children.
5. Self-report - Self, child's experiences also help in direction.  These experiences are based on his interest.
6. Other methods (Miscellaneous techniques) - Apart from this, after receiving information from other methods, counseling etc. can be used accordingly.
